The PLANT Method Mastermind

A five month exploration of teaching through relationships of trust

Move away from 'frontal' teaching to become a trusted guide, and trade the pressure of performance for the beauty of partnership

I've grown so much in awareness and mindset, you help me, support me and inspire me - Irena

I realise who I am, where I want to be, it's really helpful for me; I got much more than I expected - Jana

I have realized that I need to give my clients more autonomy to avoid burnout and to show them how they can keep learning even after our cooperation ends. Sometimes, doing more is counterproductive. - Kate

Transform your teaching practice by moving away from the exhaustion of "frontal leading" and into the ease of guiding.

The PLANT Method invites you to trade the pressure of performance for the beauty of partnership.

Whether you work with teens or adults, in small groups or one-on-one, online or in person—and across all CEFR levels—this method meets you where you are.

At the heart of PLANT is a profound shift in mindset. It is about handing autonomy back to your learners and creating a "sacred sanctuary" where they feel safe to make mistakes, to learn, and—most importantly—to simply be.

While rooted in language coaching, PLANT is a living blend of structures. It draws on the quiet wisdom of Eastern mindfulness and the practical strength of Western pedagogy to suit the unique rhythm of your teaching life.

What Sets PLANT Apart

The PLANT Method (Personalised Lessons through Acceptance, Non-Judgment, and Trust) is an approach to teaching that creates relationships between teacher/coach and client, with an emphasis being made on self-directed learning and autonomy. The teacher becomes a guide, not the source of wisdom, but someone who supports the client on their journey.

As such, the PLANT Method can be used to teach any language, not just English.

Personalised Lessons

No more hours spent planning separate lessons for each individual client. PLANT will teach you how to create ONE lesson plan a week that your clients will love, freeing your time for family, friends, and hobbies while still feeling incredibly relatable and personal to your clients.

Acceptance

With clients learning how to be autonomous learners, you accept your true role as their guide and coach. If they study, don’t study, progress, or don’t progress, you will accept them as humans trying their best and strengthen boundaries for yourself.

Non-Judgment

Building relationships of trust means that you become non-judgmental, allowing them to be the messy, complex, beautiful human they are. Their opinions, behaviours, choices; you hold them in compassion without judgment, but you do the same for yourself as well.

Trust

You deeply understand and recognise that your learner or client has agency and self-direction and can be trusted to speak and share. You trust that they have a full life of stories and experiences to share once you have gained their trust. What is said in the session, stays in the session.

  • I have realized that I need to give my clients more autonomy to avoid burnout and to show them how they can keep learning even after our cooperation ends. Sometimes, doing more is counterproductive. I have also learned a lot about myself and what I need to change to make not only my teaching but also my life happier. Our calls showed me that we are all in the same boat, dealing with similar issues, which made things feel much lighter. I am so glad I joined this program. It has given me much more than I had expected.

  • It's definitely worth joining the Mastermind. Not only you start looking at your teaching from a different perspective, but there's also a chance it will change you personally.

  • Many courses focus on how to be a better teacher for your students, but The PLANT Method goes further by putting the teacher's well-being at the heart of everything. Because a happy teacher makes happy students. After three years of using it, I’m a much more balanced, content, and present educator. This method didn't just improve my teaching; it also saved me from the burnouts I used to struggle with.

    Jane

  • I’ve become more creative and have really started enjoying teaching again. I've found a new sense of curiosity about life, and that is now completely reflected in the way I teach :-)

    Martina

  • the programme doesn’t only look at lesson planning or teaching techniques. It really works with the whole person. I sometimes think of it as being a little like the difference between traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine looks at the body as an interconnected system rather than treating every part in isolation. In a similar way, the PLANT Mastermind recognises that our teaching, confidence, wellbeing, boundaries, business and personal lives all affect one another. It helps you look not only at what you are doing in your teaching practice, but also at why you are doing it that way and whether it is actually sustainable. There are practical tools and systems, but there is also a very important focus on balance, wellbeing and creating a way of working that supports you as well as your students. I think that is what makes the experience so valuable.

  • The Mastermind was a safe and welcoming space with tons of inspiration on how to simplify your “teacher job” (and yet make it more efficient and possibly more effective at the same time)! I particularly appreciate the 30-minute 1-2-1 calls, Jen, thank you for all the support and help!
